With the addition of the Oasis Chair, Martin Ballendat has also designed another new chair for the Mobica collection – Torro. The design for the Torro is based around a saddle which is made for the modern office environment. This wacky design can be used for seating or simply as a portable storage caddy; it offers many different features. Constructed from strong, durable polyurethane, the Torro saddle chair has a smooth surface which delivers great stability.

The Torro provides enough space inside for a laptop, notebook, or other files for any mobile office worker. It comes as an excellent alternative storage space which is extremely functional and effective. The saddle chair has a retractable handle made of stainless steel which allows for easy navigation whilst providing an ergonomic posture. Once the user arrives at their destination, most likely a desk, the handle can be retracted and pushed out of the way.

-The saddle seat can come with a special space saving torro-station to store the Torro away. I always thought the horse went back in the stable, not the saddle… The station not only provides a storage space for the Torro but can also double up as a bench for flexible seating. As with riding a horse, when sitting on the Torro you have to follow certain guidelines to ensure active posture and to ensure you are balanced correctly. Mobica refer to this as ‘Saddle Principal’. 

In summary, the Torro saddle chair functions well as a seat, a mobile storage caddy, and a foot rest. The Torro station is also multifunctional as it doubles up as both storage and a bench. The compact dimensions of Torro make it the ideal solution in the modern office. Not only that, the Torro works extremely well with the Oasis chair to create visually stunning breakout areas.
