Workbays - An Optimal Solution to The Open Plan Office

With today’s ever changing open plan offices, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec set out to show how a simple arrangement of fleece walls and horizontal surfaces can be used as an entire work environment.

The Workbays system is the outcome of this arrangement from the Bouroullec brothers. By using only fleece walls with aluminium profiles, the rigidity of classic, cubicle office layouts is broken. The Workbays come as a free standing and compact system whose modularity provides both a visual and acoustical private haven to retreat to.

The Workbays can be used for multiple situations, ranging from single workstations to a touchdown point for meetings. Any configuration, right down to small pantries, can be created using only a few furniture components. These configurations allow the user to switch between each environment easily to seek out the one optimal for their task at hand.
