Get Rocking With The Oyo by Martin Ballendat
Martin Ballendat has done it again with the Oyo chair for Aeris. The aesthetics of the chair ensures it gets immediate attention and it’s safe to say that the Oyo is a statement piece which combines both retro and modern design. Oyo – A design classic.
The Oyo isn’t only a pretty face though. It is also a highly functional, ergonomic, and technologically advanced seating device. It is the first ever use of the combination between a saddle seat, plastic shell and a rocking chair which is design for a myriad of seating positions. Sit on it sideways, back to front, perched …or even the normal way. By allowing a variety of sitting positions, the Oyo is an ideal solution to open plan offices or shared meeting rooms.
The flowing form of the Oyo hugs your body and gives you that sense of wellbeing when you sit on it. Its rocking cantilever base also allows you to keep moving, keeping you active throughout the day.
Weighing only 9.8kg, the Oyo comes upholstered in a 3D net Nexus fabric which has a whopping 100,000 Martindale rubs so it is suited for the long run. Under the fabric is a glass fibre reinforced plastic seat shell covered in specialised soft foam. The rocking cantilever base is constructed with a polished chromed tubular steel base. The Oyo has been designed to take weight loads of up to 120kg!
