Sometimes the most simple of ideas have a massive impact. Take the Toolbox for instance. At first glance a very utilitarian design and a simple ,functional object. Sure Toolbox comes in attractive colours and has pleasing soft edge details that you wouldnt normally get from a mass produced object...but it is in essence an open toolbox.

Then consider the bigger impact in terms of how we now work and the need to be portable and flexible in terms of what we carry to our workplacee and how we move within that space. Suddenly the traditional pedestal storage solution seems very staid. Vitra's toolbox is both good as an organisational tool for desktops but can also be used in conjunction with locker systems to provide workers with the ability to port their essential items from desk to desk (or from one meeting to another) and then return to the security of a locker at the end of the working day.
