Mobica+ Oasis by Martin Ballendat

Mobica+ are clearly taken by Martin Ballendat of Design Ballendats creations as they asked him to design their stand at Orgatec and by introducing a new product to their range - the Oasis Chair.

Martin Ballendat and his company designed the Mobica Oasis chair to be a sort of new interpretation of a wingback chair with smooth yet subtle organic lines. The grouping of the materials used is novel: the curvaceous steel- tube is wrapped in a knitted fabric and creates a distinctive, iconic design. The lumbar support area and headrest is covered by a double layer of fabric, therefore offering users an ergonomic sitting position with optimised comfort. 

Oasis’s wings gives a sense of security and privacy, both visual and auditory. It may appear transparent but the high wings allows it’s user to focus and concentrate on their work. The Oasis chair from Mobica+ will make for an excellent addition to a reception area or even in a busy office.

Oasis has the option to add on a writing tablet which is rotatable by 360 degrees around the entire chair; not that you would need to swing it behind you. Well, unless you want to show your colleague your notes for ‘the big test’. It does come as an extremely ergonomic solution though as it works out just fine for both left and right handed individuals. The Oasis’s twin axle pivot on the writing tablet arm allows the user to adjust the closeness of the tablet if required.

The pendular mechanism of the chair’s shell creates various positions for it’s user by gently tilting backwards, therefore making it useable by all.
